This is the problem with trying to generalize or socially categorize a large group of people. (You can never speak to them all in one way.)
While I personally hope there are more Jackson’s out there, the fact is that marketing dollars are normally spent on actions that provide results.
So my guess is companies are doing it…because its providing a return.
