Dubbing Applications
The way dubbing goes on the hook matters as much as what it’s made of.
Most dubbing conversations start with material: natural or synthetic, coarse or fine, flash or no flash. Which is a reasonable place to start. It’s also the wrong place to start. The material decision and the application method are the same decision, made in the wrong order by most tyers.
The method determines what the material does in the water. Choose the method first and the material follows. Choose the material first and there’s a reasonable chance the application is fighting, rather than working with, your tying outcomes.
